ABERDEEN-based oil services giant Wood Group has made a £2.2 billion takeover bid for Amec Foster Wheeler one of its biggest rivals.
The recommended all share bid for London-based Amec Foster Wheeler comes as services firms face challenging trading conditions following cuts in spending by the oil and gas firms they work for.
Wood Group’s chief executive Robin Watson is in line to lead the enlarged group.
