PRESTIGE Hotel Management has submitted a detailed planning application for 26 lodges on the grounds of its three-star Barony Castle Hotel in Eddleston, near Peebles.

The £4 million project would see a minimum of 25 construction jobs created and, once built, the two-bed lodges, alongside a renovated cottage on the hotel grounds, would help PHM add 13 jobs to the current 60 by the end of 2018.

Directors Richard Spanner and Scott Weatherby, who have been supported by Business Gateway Scottish Borders, hope work can begin in May if full planning consent is granted.
