THE SCOTTISH Government has appointed telecoms and information technology firm Farrpoint to provide advice on the planning and rollout of Scotland’s digital infrastructure action plan.

The action plan includes the Reaching 100% Superfast Broadband Coverage Programme (R100), which has a deadline of March 2021.

The project will be led by FarrPoint chief executive and co-founder Andrew Muir, with support from the Edinburgh firm’s wider broadband team.

Mr Muir said: “The R100 programme is a crucial part of the Government’s vision for ensuring that Scotland’s digital infrastructure is among the best in the world. We are delighted to have been appointed and to be able to build on our previous work with the Scottish Government in the superfast broadband space.”
