Fresh produce firm Produce Investments has bought the Cornish daffodil grower Andrew Farming in a deal that includes more than 40 new commercial daffodil varieties as well as 90 smaller seedlings.

The deal, completed through Produce Investment’s Rowe Farming Limited (RFL) subsidiary for an undisclosed amount, will allow the company’s daffodil range – which is sold to supermarkets across the UK – to be expanded.

RFL Managing Director Rob Stacey said that the acquisition would in particular enhance the company’s portfolio of dried bulbs and specialist cut flowers.

“The varieties we have acquired from the deal are extremely complimentary to our own and the combined expertise will enable Rowe Farming to better serve our customers,” he said. “This acquisition represents a major investment in future daffodil flower and bulb production, underlying our continued commitment to the sector”.
