WORLDMARK International, the East Kilbride-based maker of security labels for devices like laptops, has been bought by Canadian packaging firm CCL Industries in a deal that values the business at £125 million.

The chief executive of CCL Industries, Geoffrey Martin, said: "We have admired Worldmark for many years as they built a unique, leading global position in the technology sector and are very excited to welcome their management team and employees to CCL.”

CCL bought the business from the Equistone private equity operation, which took control of the firm in 2007.
