Cathedral City maker Dairy Crest said its pre-tax profit fell 13% to £13.1 million in the in the six months to the end of September, as falling earnings of its cheese and whey goods failed to offset rises among its branded products such as Frylight sunflower oil. Last month the firm got the go-ahead to sell its dairy business to Muller UK and Ireland for £80 million on December 26 from the Competition Markets Authority.
