Profits leap at Edinburgh-based J Smart
J SMART & Co, the Edinburgh-based construction firm, has seen profits more than double in its latest financial year.
The company, which builds private homes, social housing and commercial properties, lifted underlying pre-tax profits to £3.7 million in the year ended July 31, up from £1.8m last year.
The results were boosted by profits of more than £1.3m from property sales and joint venture property sales.
Revenue at the group, which has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1965, narrowed to £20.8m from £22.8m, the company told the City.
