GRAHAM’S The Family Dairy has secured a listing for its Nairn-produced yoghurt with supermarket chain Sainsbury’s in Scotland.

The deal will see the family-owned dairy company supply three of the six-strong range to 31 stores around the country, with the product expected to begin appearing in stores on Sunday.

It is the second major contract to be secured by Bridge of Allan-based Graham’s for the product since it launched in August.

The yoghurts, which come in 150g pots, are already stocked by Scotmid.

There are six low-fat flavours in the range – raspberry, strawberry, summer fruits, peach, toffee and natural – the first three of which will be sold by Sainsbury’s.

Graham’s, which moved into a £20 million dairy with research and training facility in Stirling earlier this year, makes the yoghurt at its processing site in Nairn. Facilities were recently upgraded at the facility to allow move Graham’s to move into yoghurt production.

Managing director Robert Graham said: “Sainsbury’s share our commitment to quality dairy products and we are delighted to be introducing our new yoghurt range to their customers across Scotland, which will complement the other Graham’s products they enjoy from their stores.

“Given the surprising fact that best-selling yoghurt brands in Scotland are French and English, we saw the opportunity to introduce a low-fat Scottish yoghurt using Scottish milk sourced from our 98 farming partners.

“Our new product range is high quality and low fat with an indulgent taste, and we’ll continue to focus on growing our presence in this category with Scottish retailers.”

Sainsbury’s said: “Sainsbury’s is delighted to be launching Graham’s yoghurts as part of our range in Scottish stores. We already work closely with Graham’s The Family Dairy and retail the brand across a variety of other categories including butters, cheddar, milk and ice cream.”

Graham’s launched a big move into the spreadable butter market in May following a £1m investment in plant and technology at its Airthrey Kerse Farm.
