Standard Life has appointed a new non-executive to its board. Investment banker Melanie Gee, 54, who will be paid £71,400 a year, will be the fourth woman on Standard’s 11-strong board. She has been on the board of Weir Group since 2011 and chair of the remuneration committee since 2012. She is also a non-executive at Drax Group and a senior adviser to Lazard. She was managing director of investment banking in the UK for UBS from 2008 to 2013 after other senior roles in UBS over the previous nine years. She is an Oxford Maths graduate and spent the first 17 years of her career with SG Warburg.
