EXPERTS from technology giants Google and Pinterest have joined the speaker line-up for a digital conference taking place in Edinburgh on Friday.

Hundreds of delegates from a range of sectors are expected to attend the event at The Royal College of Surgeons, where organisations will be urged to change the way they advertise brands to consumers.

Other speakers confirmed to appear include specialists from Linkdex, the search engine optimisation firm, and advertising strategists The Comms Lab.

Pete Martin, creative director of organiser The Gate Interactive, said: “The goal for many organisations in recent times has been to focus on data, scientific evidence and performance indicators to judge their approach to communicate with consumers. It’s time to stop treating people like robots and digital experts at the conference will share new insight on methods that will help advertisers take a step back and practice basic, universal values to help identify with consumers to protect brand reputation and build credibility."
