Leisure group Montpeliers (Edinburgh) is spending £500,000 refurbishing its flagship Tigerlily venue and boutique hotel in Edinburgh.

The main changes will see individual areas created which are meant to appeal to customers who want to eat and drink at all times of the day.

Designer Jim Hamilton, who designed the George Street site when it first opened in 2006, has led the revamp.

David Johnston, development director at Montpeliers, said: “Tigerlily has remained the largest and most profitable venue in our portfolio since it opened in 2006. But after a nearly a decade of leading the way, this is the right time to make significant changes to transform it into an even better venue that appeals to all.”

Montpeliers also owns Opal Lounge, ricks, Lulu, Montpeliers of Brunstfield, Candy Bar and Indigo (yard).

Tigerlily, which employs 100 staff, reopens on Friday.
