PINEWOOD Group has appointed Scottish advertising veteran Mary Teresa (MT) Rainey as a non-executive director.

The 59-year-old Ms Rainey is originally from Dumbarton but rose to prominence in the 1980s with the Chiat agency working on many Silicon Valley accounts including Apple.

She formed her own agency, Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe, in 1993 attracting blue chip clients including Virgin, Scottish & Newcastle and Smith & Nephew.

In 1999 she sold the agency to Y&R but stayed on as its chair until 2005.

Since leaving advertising she developed mentoring network Horsemouth and has also been involved with digital agency Th_nk.

She has previously been on the board of STV and WH Smith. She is currently a non-executive director of Channel 4 Television and Creative Skillset.

Pinewood, the film and television studio group, also appointed Catherine Raines as a non-executive. The former pharmaceuticals executive is now Director-General of UK Trade & Investment China.

Lord Grade, chairman of Pinewood, said: "Catherine and MT bring experience and skills to the Board which will be of immense value to Pinewood in delivering its strategic objectives."

Pinewood also confirmed that Ruth Prior, who is already on its board, will take the role of senior independent director.
