GOALS Soccer Centres has lifted profits by 10 per cent and signalled plans to expand its presence in the US.

The five-a-side operator reported underlying before income tax of £10.6 million in the year ended December 31. Sales rose by three per cent to £34.7m.

The company, which has 45 centres in the UK, cited a strong performance across the Atlantic, where sales at its Los Angeles site grew by 13 per cent on a like for like basis.

Goals said it has held talks about opening further sites in the LA area.
