RESDIARY, the online restaurant booking specialist, has struck a deal to sell its system to hotels and restaurants in Bahrain.
The Glasgow-based company, established by hospitality veteran Mike Conyers, has entered a reciprocal agreement with Middle East businessman Mohammad Ali. Mr Ali and his family are behind a range of web and IT infrastructure ventures, including the dineoutbahrain.com website.
ResDiary system will roll out to hundreds of his clients in the oil-rich country, building on the thousands of accounts it holds in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Portugal, Germany, UAE and Saudi Arabia. ResDiary will introduce the Bahrain firm's expertise to its clients, which in Scotland include the hospitality firms Di Maggio's, G1 Group and Montpeliers Edinburgh.
Mr Conyers, whose firm won the B2B prize in The Herald's 2013 Scottish Digital Business Awards, said: "This agreement will build on the success we have already achieved in the region with our reseller agreement in Dubai and Saudi [Arabia], which has driven excellent business in these countries' multi-restaurant resort hotels."
ResDiary, whose system allows operators to manage covers, take bookings, and drive business by analysing reservation patterns, is eyeing the United States, Canada, Brazil, Hong Kong and Singapore as it continues to expand.
