Notice of Designation
The Council as an Authority designated by the Scottish Ministers for the purposes of the above legislation hereby give notice of its intention to exercise those powers to all public roads within South Ayrshire and will take effect from MIDNIGHT on 20th June 2016.
The conferred designation allows the Council
to carry out, in accordance with Regulation 9 of the above regulations, tests on vehicles which
are in or which are about to pass through or which have passed through South Ayrshire
and to issue fixed penalty notices in respect
of emissions offences committed in relation to
such vehicles.
The designation also allows the Local Authority to issue fixed penalty notices for stationary idling offences under Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
