DAVID CLARKSOn insists he's driven to win a new deal at Dundee.

The former Motherwell and Scotland striker was a revelation earlier in the season when he set a new club scoring record following his short-term move to Dens Park.

The 29-year-old is itching to recapture his top form as the Dark Blues, who face Celtic on Friday, bid to get back to winning ways having recently clinched their place in the top-six.

Clarkson said: "There's still plenty to play for this season.

"My aim personally has always been to get back in the team and get a run of games.

"Now I want to get back scoring goals and help the team to start winning games again.

"I'm out of contract at the end of the season, so it's important to me to play.

"There are a lot of other players in the same boat as me, too.

"It's up to us to make sure the club want to offer us something.

"You have to keep going and do well for the club - the rest will then take care of itself.

"It would hurt to let the fans down after what has been a good season so far."
