RANGERS have invited two more trialists to train with them this week as Ally McCoist seeks to augment his squad before the transfer window closes next week.

Zlatan Muslimovic and Luigi Bruins arrived at Murray Park yesterday, joining Jorge Claros who also trained with the first-team last week.

Muslimovic is a Bosnian international striker who has been without a club since leaving PAOK last summer. Prior to playing in Greece, the 30- year-old, who holds a Swedish passport, was on the books of Udinese from where he made seven loan spells before joining Atalanta.

"I can't say too much at the moment but if something was to happen with Rangers, it would be good for the player and the club," said Mate Jozipovic, the player's agent.

Muslimovic has Swedish citizenship and played youth football in Sweden before joining Udinese, to whom he was contracted for seven years but spent much of it on short-term loan spells at Perugia, Pistoiese, Ascoli, Padova, Rimini, Messini and Parma before joining Atalanta for a single season and then moving on to PAOK in 2008.

Although he hardly flourished during his club career, he has retained a place in the national squad, playing 33 times and scoring 12 goals.

Bruins is a former Dutch under-21 midfielder, most recently at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. The 24-year-old was previously on the books of Excelsior and Feyenoord in his native country.

The pair were joined at Murray Park by Jamael Cox, a 19-year-old midfielder who plays for Seattle Sounders, although Cox is believed to be there purely to train during the MLS off-season.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Rangers have competition from a handful of npower Championship clubs to land Enar Jaager. The Estonia international full-back impressed McCoist so much that he said on Friday that a contract was close to being completed. That proved to be premature with McCoist being told he has to sell players in order to free up wages.

Leeds United have been credited with an interest in signing the former Torpedo Moscow and Ascoli player. Jaager's agent, Marco Vyalya, has confirmed Leeds' interest, but he said that it is not just the Yorkshire club who are chasing his client. Vyala said: "I can confirm the Leeds have an interest in Enar but this is not the only club in England who are interested."

Another player reportedly watched by both Old Firm clubs, the 6ft 7in Nigerian striker Michael Uchebo, last night said he wants to leave VVV Venlo this month after rejecting a new deal. His club have revealed there is "strong interest" in the 21-year-old who is out of contract in the summer and trained with Stoke City last week.
