WE have had Craig Whyte and the meltdown at Rangers.

Now get ready for Craig Whyte the movie.

The collapse and comeback at Ibrox has been fuelled by heroes and villains during the darkest days of the club's history.

Now Whyte, who owned Rangers as they were placed in administration last year, is trying to sell the film, TV and book rights to his story and the club's downfall.

Details have come to light as Whyte faces bankruptcy, with the High Court in London ruling he must repay £17 million to the ticket agency that helped to fund his purchase of the club in 2011. He is to appeal.

Whyte hopes the rights to his story will be snapped up "in due course" with his intentions set out before the London Stock Exchange yesterday.

The financial world was informed of his plans in a note regarding the future of Worthington Group Plc, which has links to Whyte.

The statement said the rights to be transferred included book, film and TV rights to Rangers FC in 2011 and 2012 "as it relates to Craig Whyte". Whyte was unavailable for comment.
