Colin Montgomerie was given the all-clear on Sunday after experiencing chest pains during the Constellation Senior Players Championship in Massachussetts.

Montgomerie, who is the points leader on the Champions Tour this year, felt discomfort after completing his third round at the Belmont Country Club on Saturday and took himself to Massachusetts General Hospital the following morning.

The Champions Tour reported that Montgomerie, 51, was able to return to the course from after being checked in time to play his final round.

The Scot went on to shoot 68 to finish in a tie for third, nine shots behind winner Bernhard Langer.

Montgomerie, a three-time major winner on the seniors circuit, is due to return to mainstream action at the US Open at Chambers Bay later this week.
