A man has been arrested and £80,000 of heroin seized in a police raid.

Officers and teams from Police Scotland's dog unit searched a property in the Guild Street area of Aberdeen yesterday and made the discovery.

A 32-year-old man has been charged over the seizure and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court later today.

The raid was part of Operation Maple, a campaign to crack down on drugs, violence and anti-social behaviour in Aberdeen.

The force said it had been launched in response to feedback from local residents about issues that worry them.
