IT’S time to celebrate.
The Herald and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce in association with award winning city brand, PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW, are delighted to continue to celebrate the wealth and breadth of community, business, arts and sports organisations who are working tirelessly for this great city.
This year’s awards are supported by Anderson Strathern, Developing the Young Workforce, Glasgow Airport, Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow Fort, Glasgow Welcomes, Glasgow Taxis, Hacking & Paterson Management Services, Kings Theatre & Theatre Royal, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Ross Wilson Public Relations, Sir Robert McAlpine and Whyte & Mackay.
These organisations have joined forces to host a glittering awards ceremony, hosted by STV’s Jennifer Reoch on Thursday, September 6, held at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel. The event will bring together Glasgow’s GREATS!
This year saw a record number of entries with a fantastic line up of finalists including Allied Vehicles, Glasgow Council on Alcohol, LINIAN Supply Co Ltd and Tennents Training Academy to name a few.
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce chief executive Stuart Patrick said: “Two of the city’s most trusted and respected institutions have again joined forces with the city’s PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW brand to celebrate the individuals and organisations which contribute freely to the culture and economy of the city - to the benefit of all our citizens. It has become one of the highlights of the year, and all at the Chamber are looking forward to another memorable evening on September 6.”
Alison McRae, Senior Director, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce added: “The Developing Young Workforce Glasgow team is delighted to have been involved in this event since it began! It is truly one of the highlights of the awards calendar and once again this year promises to be better than the last.”
Craig Martin, Chair of the Glasgow Welcomes Initiative, and Head of HR at Glasgow Airport also said: “We’re really excited about the Inspiring City Awards this year, with a great calibre of entries for the Glasgow Welcomes Service Champion category. We’re delighted with the response and look forward to an evening which will celebrate best practice across the city.”
Stephen Flynn, Chairman of Glasgow Taxis said: “Glasgow is a very dynamic city and it is these companies and individuals nominated at The Inspiring City Awards who have aided in making this already brilliant city even more vibrant. Every year the Glasgow Taxis team leave feeling inspired by the great work being done across the city and we love nothing more than to see the nominees and winners receive the credit they deserve.
These awards celebrate a sense of community spirit, a principle which Glasgow Taxis are proud to share. We also recognise the important role of many organisations and individuals in encouraging the communities of Glasgow to continue to strive for success in education, business and social responsibility.”
