NOT all the defectors from Hutchesons'/Aloysians have gone to

Clarkston. Two former Auldhouse forwards, Gordon Bulloch and David

McLeish, both under-19 caps last season, will be playing their rugby

with West of Scotland.

McLeish is to make his West debut at No.8 in the match against Ayr at

Burnbrae this evening (kick-off 7.0). He will be flanked by John

Lonergan, West's captain, and another newcomer, David McVey, the Glasgow

wing forward who has arrived at Burnbrae via Greenock, Ayr, and Stirling

County.

Like McVey, Sandy Crear, West's established tight head, will be

playing against old colleagues from Millbrae.

Mark and Richie Craig, sons of Jim Craig of Celtic's 1967 European

Cup-winning team, will be together for West, as they did in the GHK tens

at Old Anniesland on Sunday.

Weekend injuries have taken Andy Kerr, the Scotland under-21 cap, and

Doug Smith out of the Ayr pack. In the credit column, however, the

visitors field their New Zealand newcomers -- Jeremy Etheredge at

stand-off, and Jason Barbarich at lock -- as well as their centre

recruit from Kilmarnock, Nick Barrow.

Hutchesons/Aloysians, taken aback by the loss of more than two dozen

players, mainly to Clarkston, have called off the game they were to play

against Glasgow Academicals at Auldhouse this evening.
