THE individuals and organisations setting the highest standards in  Scotland’s recruitment industry will

be brought into the spotlight with the return of a major annual awards programme.

Entries are now being sought for the eighth s1Jobs Recruitment Awards, in association with Fyte, giving firms and individuals the chance to compete for 15 contested categories. The awards culminate with a gala dinner and prize giving at Glasgow’s Doubletree by Hilton Hotel on April 11, which will climax with the presentation of the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Achievement. This year’s sponsors are Demand Talent, Gillespie People Solutions, BroadBean, Net Talent, Anderson Knight, Badenoch & Clark, REED, Bullhorn, Firefish Software and title partner Fyte.

The s1 awards were created to showcase the originality, professionalism and talent of the people driving the recruitment industry in Scotland. Four of the categories this year will be voted for by s1Jobs’ 700,000-plus users – Best Recruitment Agency, Recruitment Consultant of the year, Best Employer Brand and Best Newcomer. Last year’s winners included Eden Springs, which was named Best HR Team of the Year, and SKY, Best Employer Brand.

Alistair Shaw, regional director of this year’s title sponsor Fyte (Find Your Talent Easily), said: “Fyte is thrilled to be headline sponsor for the S1jobs Recruitment Awards 2019. The Awards recognise and celebrate the very best our region has to offer, and Scotland continues to lead by example with some outstanding firms and individuals in the recruitment field.

“Digital technology has impacted almost every aspect of our working lives, from how we communicate with one another, to how we learn new skills, to how we carry out tasks and measure our success. When it comes to finding new talent, or finding new jobs, the recruitment sector must continuously strive and evolve to find different and modern ways of reaching new talent.”

Hazel Gillespie, director of Gillespie People Solutions, said: “Regardless of the increasing technical innovation, this is primarily a people-led industry. Promoting and celebrating the very best talent in recruitment is a vital part of ensuring businesses and individuals keep striving for the highest levels of professionalism.”

Steven Wood, director of Anderson Knight, said: “Anderson Knight remains committed to supporting the annual S1 Awards, as a business within the sector we believe it’s imperative that success is highlighted to the wider audience. Its fundamental to hold such an event that recognises the hard work, delivery and professionals within our sector.”

Craig Dunn, business director for Demand Talent, said it was a “no brainer” for the firm to get involved with the awards in its first year of trading. “Now with branding being more important than ever, these awards are a massive opportunity for credible recruitment consultancies to showcase their people, culture and success - further helping them to become talent magnets to both future high calibre recruiters and candidates alike,” he added.

Yvonne Moffat, chief executive of Net Talent and s1 Awards judge, said: “The s1 Awards have become the showcase for everything recruitment in Scotland. As our industry develops and new technologies and trends emerge, it’s an important event for the industry not only to keep up with what clients and candidates are looking for, but to give everyone the chance to recognise the really high talent levels we have in both consultancy and client organisations.”
