POST Office Travel Insurance has said it will create 75 jobs in Glasgow with more in prospect for later this year.
The new recruits will work at a customer service centre the company is developing in Glasgow's financial services centre as part of its growth plans for the insurance business.
The company aims to become the number one provider in the travel insurance market.
It said the jobs in the new Post Office Management Serices operation at the Atlantic Quay facility will ensure that high levels of customer service are maintained whilst handling the anticipated growth in demand.
Nick Kennett, chief executive of Post Office Management Services said: "We have chosen Glasgow as the centre for our plans to allow us to have the ability to grow our business and continue to maintain the high levels of service that our customers expect and demand from us."
Minister for Business Fergus Ewing said: "The insurance and financial services sector has long been recognised as one of Scotland's strengths given the skills and experience of our workforce. I'm very pleased Post Office is investing in Glasgow and Scotland by creating these 75 new and welcome jobs."
Launched in 2002, the international financial services district has helped bring thousands of jobs to Glasgow. Firms in areas such as legal and financial services have been attracted by the availability of skilled and experienced staff.
Recent arrivals include KPMG's tax centre of excellence and Ashurst's legal analysis operation.
In November Peninsula, an employment law specialist, said it will open a new office in the area in March. The company said it expects to create 55 new jobs, with the potential to grow the business to 70 jobs within 12 months.
