INVER House Distillers, which produces brands including Old Pulteney and anCnoc, has highlighted its growth ambitions after securing a £45 million asset-based lending facility from Bank of Scotland.

Bank of Scotland said the lending facility, secured against the company’s whisky stocks, would help Inver House’s ongoing investment and development of new whisky stocks as it continued to build its brand portfolio.

The bank said the new loan facility would also help Inver House improve its profit margins over the next five years and provide “increased headroom to support its overseas expansion in India, Kazakhstan and Poland”.

Roger Hall, financial director at Inver House, said: “We are an ambitious business looking to increase our share of a growing global market. The new facility…helps us to continue investment in our whisky stocks, which will see our brands grow over the next 12 years and beyond.”

Simon Woodcock, business development director at Bank of Scotland, said: “Whisky is a key contributor to Scotland’s food and drink exports and the UK’s balance of trade. Bank of Scotland is committed to working with this sector.”

Inver House employs 210 people across its six sites in Scotland. Most of its employees are in Airdrie in North Lanarkshire, with other staff located at its Pulteney, Balblair, Knockdhu, Speyburn and Balmenach distilleries.
