Dominc Frisby's Financial Game Show ia on at the Gilded Balloon Teviot - Billiard Room, during August.
- What is your Fringe show about?
It’s a cross between a quiz and a game show – for example, The Chase and The Price Is Right – themed around money and finance. There are big prizes.
- How many times/many years have you appeared at the Fringe?
I first came doing 20 minutes sets in 1999. After 2003 I didn’t come back for 12 years (bringing up kids). This will be my fifth full length show.
- What’s your most memorable moment from the Fringe?
I remember watching some pretty epic deaths at Late n’ Live, but I have also seen some amazing gigs. I’ve always had a soft spot for variety acts, particularly ones who use sound in interesting ways. There was an Australian circus act, I don’t remember his name, and he came on stage looking like the most boring insurance clerk you’ve ever seen in your life and all he did was unpack his briefcase, which had staplers, bits of paper and all the things you might have in a briefcase. He never spoke. Just unpacked his case, but in doing so created the most fantastic rhythms. It was like drumming with stationary, basically. Brilliant. Heck knows what happened to him. He’s probably gone back to insurance.
- What’s the worst thing about the Fringe?
Other people’s PR
- If you were not a performer what would you be doing?
Writing travel adventures.
- How do you prepare for a performance?
Pace up and down.
- Favourite thing about being in Edinburgh?
Getting off the beaten track stumbling across some brilliant left-field act.
- What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?
Going to see Hibs v Hearts.
- Favourite Scottish food/drink?
Deuchers.
- Sum up your show in three words
Interesting, exciting, amusing.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
