They are the New Wave of Scotland’s film and TV actors.
We’ve put together a list of 50 young stars who’ve already taken their first steps in the profession and are aiming for the heights. They’re all under 30, were born or live in Scotland, and have at least one significant role to their credit already.

- Age: 18
- From: Glasgow
- Credits: Most famous as Sean in River City. He also appeared as The Kid in The Lost Purse in 2012.
- Did you know: Since August 2011, Declan has been studying at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles on a scholarship.
- Name: Gary Lamont
- Age: 28
- From: Castlemilk
- Credits: Most famous as Robbie Fraser in River City. He has also appeared in Rebus and Still Game.
- Did you know: When he was a youngster, Gary was a member of Castlemilk’s Jeely Piece Club, set up by mums to keep kids safe and give them somewhere to play.
- Name: Jamie Lemetti
- Age: 22
- From: Falkirk. Graduate of Motherwell College.
- Credits: Most famous as the mechanic in Gary Tank Commander.
- Did you know: Jamie is a keen sportsman with a talent for rugby, football, swimming and archery.
- Name: Rose Leslie
- Age: 25
- From: Aberdeen. Graduate of the London Academy of Music and Drama.
- Credits: Most famous as Ygritte in Game of Thrones and Gwen Dawson in Downton Abbey. She has also appeared in Vera, Case Histories and Banged up Abroad.
- Did you know: Rose will be back on our screens in 2013 in series 3 of Game of Thrones.
- Name: Katie Leung
- Age: 25
- From: Motherwell
- Credits: Most famous as Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films. She has also appeared in Agatha Christie’s Poirot.
- Did you know: Katie beat 3,000 girls to win the part of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films.
- Name: Ashley Lilley
- Age: 26
- From: Rothesay. Graduate of Italia Conti Academy in London.
- Credits: Most famous as Ali in Mamma Mia!. She has also appeared as Carla in Lip Service, Patricia in Letters to Juliet and Venus Houston in M.I. High.
- Did you know: Ashley was a college classmate of dancer and friend of Cheryl Cole, Derek Hough.
- Name: Louise Linton
- Age: 27
- From: Edinburgh
- Credits: Most famous as Vanessa Rose Bellows in the US TV film, William and Kate. She has also appeared on TV in Cold Case, The Daily Habit and A Smile as Big as the Moon.
- Did you know: Louise has just finished work on The Power of Few with Christopher Walken and Christian Slater and Scavengers with Sean Patrick Flanery.
