They are the New Wave of Scotland’s film and TV actors.
We’ve put together a list of 50 young stars who’ve already taken their first steps in the profession and are aiming for the heights. They’re all under 30, were born or live in Scotland, and have at least one significant role to their credit already.

- Age: 24
- From: Inverness. Graduated from Italia Conti Academy.
- Credits: Most famous as Amy Pond in Doctor Who. Made acting debut in Rebus in 2006 and has also appeared in The Kevin Bishop Show, We’ll Take Manhattan, The Well and Outcast.
- Did you know: Karen will appear in the film Oculus in 2014.
- Name: Dylan Gillooly
- Age: 16
- From: Airdrie
- Credits: Most famous as Thom in film Battleship. He has also appeared in Limmy’s Show and Burnistoun.
- Did you know: Battleship director Peter Berg organised for Dylan to meet Rhianna after he found out that she was not filming on set at the same time as him.
- Name: Calvin Goldspink
- Age: 23
- From: Although originally from Great Yarmouth, Calvin was raised in Aberdeen.
- Credits: Most famous as James Middleton in the US TV film William and Kate. He has also appeared in Life is Wild and I Dream.
- Did you know: Calvin is a former member of S Club Juniors.
- Name: Jayd Johnson
- Age: 21
- From: Edinburgh
- Credits: Most famous as Nicki Cullen in River City. She has also appeared as Paddy Meehan in The Field of Blood and Catriona in Dear Frankie.
- Did you know: Jayd was at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York when she was hand-picked for her Scottish Bafta winning role of Paddy.
- Name: Kaiya Jones
- Age: 16
- From: Glasgow
- Credits: Most famous as Sophie Ramsay in Neighbours. She also appeared as Jessie Cooper in The Saddle Club in 2008 and 2009.
- Did you know: Kaiya, who moved to Australia when she was eight, is a keen musician and plays guitar and saxophone.
- Name: Ciaron Kelly
- Age: 24
- From: Glasgow
- Credits: Most famous as Private Fox in Burke and Hare. He has also appeared as James Bell in Rebus and Alan Stuart in the Stone of Destiny.
- Did you know: Ciaron’s middle name is Padraig.
- Name: Georgia King
- Age: 25
- From: Edinburgh
- Credits: Most famous as Suki in the film One Day. She has also appeared in Sinbad, Burke and Hare, Merlin and St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold.
- Did you know: Georgia recently completed filming on Austenworld, which tells the story of a woman who is obsessed with Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice.
