There will be no Scottish officials at Euro 2024 this summer.

UEFA has revealed the list of referees who will be on duty for the major tournament in Germany.

And for the fourth tournament in a row, Scottish officials have been left out.

The UEFA Referees’ Committee announced the full list of officials who will take charge of the 51 games taking place across June and July this summer.

A total of 18 referees and VAR officials will be at the tournament - bizarrely, even including one from Argentina.

So, while the Scotland national team will be there, there will be no representation in the refereeing department.

No Scots were involved at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Euro 2020 or the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

The last Scottish officials to take to the major international stage were Willie Collum, Bobby Madden and John Beaton in 2016 at the Euros in France.

So, this is the fourth time in a relatively short period of time that the officials of Scottish football have been overlooked.

Roberto Rosetti, UEFA managing director of refereeing, said: “UEFA EURO 2024 is the pinnacle of European national team football with the best teams competing and that’s why we have selected the best referees to officiate these matches.

"All chosen referees have performed consistently to the highest standards in UEFA’s top competitions, and also in their domestic competitions. They have prepared exceptionally well to be in this position and we have full confidence in them to show their quality at the final tournament.”
