From Latvia to Dunoon

Dunoon Burgh Hall presents the work of Latvian-American artist Vija Celmins with 20 pieces on display that were created between 1975 and 2010. Now aged 85, Celmins creates exquisitely intricate works featuring oceans, night skies and galaxies, deserts, and her later series of spiders’ webs. The selection on display at Dunoon Burgh Hall features three unique graphite, charcoal and eraser drawings as well as intaglio and relief prints.

This exhibition brings together two Scottish based artists, Charlene Scott and Roanne O'Donnell. Scott works primarily with the material and extraction of botanical pigments while O’Donnell limits herself to an exact set of materials using oil and cold wax as well as charcoal and graphite.
