Joe started his journalism career at Future Publishing's PC Gamer, before switching to football writing as a Senior Reporter for Celtic Football Club where he wrote James Forrest's autobiography, Homegrown Hero, with the player himself. Three years at GamesRadar+ as Features Writer then Features Editor followed, before Joe returned to sports writing as Newsquest Scotland's Audience and Content Editor for sport. Joe is also a mental health advocate whose book Checkpoint was shortlisted for the Saltire Society's Scottish Non-Fiction Book of the Year in 2021.
